The word Hummingbird

was attacking me on hearing its effects from some of my fellow companies, until I myself studied the same. I read at some page, out of those I had been studying for the same, that Panda and Penguin were like Google having changed an old filter of the machine but Hummingbird is a new machine altogether. This description, I think, is enough to scare the SEO professionals. But how and where did Hummingbird affect the Search Engine Optimization of websites and the process behind it ? There's nothing to worry about your website's SEO if you did it right without any black hat techniques.

Unlike Penguin, Hummingbird is more of conversational SEO that is it happens to understand the intentions behind a user's query at the search engine and provides search results accordingly.For example, if one searches for " orphanages around Janak Puri, Delhi", Penguin would have put up all from the word orphanages to much more but Hummingbird understands what he needs and gives exact matches about the orphanages around the looked for area.

Hummingbird also understands long tail queries, like, "show me addresses of orphanages around Janak Puri" so it addresses conversational search perfectly. It also understands pronouns and emphasizes more on quality content than keyword rich content, thereby enabling users to avoid typing the same words again and again for search and encouraging website owners to share more user friendly and user-centric content.

But as before, Google still loves new, unique and of course quality content. There still is a big no-no to duplicate content, keyword stuffing, copy blogs, repeated submissions or even paid links to an extent. So, we understand that Hummingbird has NOT killed SEO but has made it easier for your customer to find you out, if, you are trying it the right way to come within their reach !!
